11/5/2023 0 Comments Olympus viewer 3 reviews![]() I now know how Robin’s “straight from the camera” raw files can be so good, because they are not the “straight from the camera” raw files that I am used to from my other non-Olympus cameras, because they have already been sharpened by OV3. My understanding of Olympus raw has changed as a result of these tests. Robin Wong insists that OV3 is simply the best convertor for Olympus raw files from OM-D cameras, and I can now understand why he believes that, and why conversion using Photoshop will yield a different result. CS6 appears to have ignored the in-camera sharpness settings. The 3 results from CS6 conversion all show the same sharpness. They were “straight from the camera” but OV3 automatically used the camera sharpness settings in the conversion to jpg images. It brings the sensor and autofocus from the EOS R6 II and combines them in a smaller, more affordable body. The three jpg images from OV3 conversion each displayed small different sharpness levels. review 3 weeks ago The Canon EOS R8 is the company's entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera. ![]() What I have found vexing in Windows 10 is that the Adobe Bridge card reader is unable to identify and download Olympus raw files yet in OSX it works fine. I cropped each resultant jpg image to a display single centre digit at full resolution and I assembled a single composite image in order to compare the results of all six crops. As I have the Creator Update Win 10 and can launch the Olympus viewer then vexing as it is the problem is specific to your computer configuration. Each raw file conversion to jpg was made making no adjustments at all in either OV3 or CS6. I then converted each raw file to jpg using OV3 and then again converted each raw file to jpg using Photoshop CS6. I used my E-M10 with 12-50 mm and I made 3 identical exposures of some printed text with the camera tripod mounted and with 2 seconds delay, with the camera set to raw, but with sharpness set to minus 2, zero, and plus 2. I am interested to discover if Robin’s jpg images are from unsharpened raw files. A Canon raw file straight from the camera would be very unsharp. The reason for my surprise is that being used to raw files from my canon cameras, I believe that the Canon raw files ignore sharpness settings set in the camera and as a result they must be sharpened at some stage either during conversion to jpg or after conversion. almost straight out of camera, with slight exposure (brightness/contrast balance) tuning and white balance tweak”. Opens with two side by side windows and can copy stuff from one drive to another easily.īasically it is a matter of understanding and controlling where your photos are in folders on the computer and on backup drives.I have long been surprised that Robin Wong’s superb images shot in raw are “. When doing masses of copies of folders and drives I often use FreeCommander as it makes life less messy than using Windows File Explorer. The backup program operates automatically every 30 minutes to keep the backup warm and safe, I use the paid SE version of Syncback but there is a free version that works well. FastStone nags for donations and I did donate many years ago as it is so useful. Any jepgs or raw files worked on then get put back into same folders or other folders within the "Pictures" area. To get the year/month/day dated folders working I use the free FastStone Viewer and then start Olympus Viewer 3 or other software and point it to the folder structure that I created. Then use an automatic backup program to copy the whole "Pictures" folder to the backup drive - it only copies the changes or additions, not the whole lot all over again of course. In my case I make sure that all photos are in year/month/day dated folders within a "Cameras" folder within the default Windows folder of "Pictures". Windows key plus E gives the File Explorer, and then need to find where the heck the photos were loaded to off the card. Ive never used Olympus conversion software, so I thought Id give the latest version a try. The easiest way is to use Windows File Explorer (you said "pc" so I assume Windows) and copy the whole folder of photos across to the backup drive. The most popular versions among the software users are 2.4, 1.5 and 1.4. ![]() I have transferred them to my computer but I can't seem to copy them to external hard drive/USB etc in order to back them up. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. 11/5/2023 0 Comments Higher burnin ipaAnd for those already planning ahead, Threes Brewing has 16-ounce cans of two collaborations for pre-order online for pick up next week.($18) will be for sale at 10am Saturday at the brewery. Sunday, the 26th, they host a brunch at The Williamsburg Hotel featuring beers from both breweries paired with takes on smorgas (open-faced sandwiches) from both sides of the pond. Friday, the 24th, they’ll host “ Swedes Singing for Beer,” a roving singalong of drinking songs with the staff from both breweries. The folks at Brooklyn Brewery are putting together a neat series of events for NYC Beer Week featuring their sister brewery in Stockholm, Sweden, Nya Carnegiebryggeriet (or New Carnegie Brewery), which opened back in 2014. Is the Times finally waking up to the city’s craft beer scene, about five years late? Perhaps. Last week, we mentioned Josh Bernstein’s article on long lines for canned beer, which prominently featured Brooklyn’s Other Half. Yesterday, the New York Times ran a blurb in the Food section about Crowlers, the 32-ounce cans that have been used at some venues in the city for well over a year now, featuring the machine at Top Hops on the Lower East Side. They continue to churn out new, interesting beers that woo crowds to their brewpub.Ĭould it be? Our city’s paper of record actually acknowledged craft beer in the city for the second time in a week. Common Roots Brewing out of South Glen Falls (about 50 miles north of Albany, for those who think even Westchester might as well be Canada) started dropping cans and kegs of their beer at shops and bars around the five boroughs late last month – their first foray into NYC since opening in 2014. ![]() ![]() You might be noticing a couple unfamiliar breweries on tap and in cans around the city, but they don’t come from very far away. As you’re being served, the Master of Horse gets things started by introducing the queen and each of the knights, who are of course accompanied by loud cheers from the devoted fans in their designated sections, some of whom will have likely purchased little flags from the Hall of Arms to wave in support of their chosen hero. While the menu is nearly always the same, they do offer various options for those with dietary restrictions (i.e. You are seated in your chosen knight’s section along with your fellow countrymen and women, and the feast, which consists of garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, buttered corn on the cob, and herb-roasted potatoes, begins almost immediately. (And if you’re finding it difficult to follow along with all these colors, that’s okay we forgive you).Īfter a bit of socializing with the rest of the lords and ladies in the Hall of Arms, it’s time to enter the arena. I’m not sure if alliances vary from show to show, but on the night we were there the Red & Yellow Knight was paired with the Blue and Green knights, while the Black & White Knight had friends in the Red and Yellow knights. The lineup includes the Green Knight of León, the Red & Yellow Knight of Perelada, the Red Knight of Castilla, the Blue Knight of Valiente, the Yellow Knight of Nevarre, and the Black & White Knight (whose homeland is not listed #sorry). As you come in, you and the rest of the people in your party are given paper crowns that signify with which knight your loyalty lies, as well as who your allies are. Here, the drinks flow freely (but not that kind of free you still need to get your wallet out) and the Medieval paraphernalia for sale - light-up swords, plastic goblets, and the like - is seemingly in endless supply. The evening begins by crossing the drawbridge over the mote, where after you are promptly ushered into a lobby/vestibule-type area called the Hall of Arms. ![]() And once you’ve experienced it for yourself, you’ll understand why so many are drawn to the majesty and enchantment contained within. The why is because people love this stuff, thus making it easily accessible to as many people as possible, such as by being located in a major metro area, is advantageous for all involved. If you don’t know a thing about Medieval Times, which also has locations in a few other American cities, your first thought upon encountering it alongside the highway leading into downtown Dallas might be: “Why the hell is there a Medieval castle in the middle of the city?” A rational line of thinking, to be sure, because why the hell, indeed? On a recent trip into the heart of Texas - that American heartland where, ‘tis said, everything is bigger - I had the chance to feast with my fellow countrymen and women as the finest knights in all the land took part in various challenges, and then jousted (yes, really) until one stood above all the rest. I’m sure there are a plethora of options out there for one seeking such an experience, but one spot that does it right is Medieval Times in Dallas. Of course, even in the absence of those HBO stalwarts, people have always been interested in the Middle Ages, which is why renaissance fairs and the like exist. You might even say that kings and queens and knights and dragons are experiencing a renaissance (see what I did there?). ![]() The Wild West was tame compared to 11th century Spain. With the popularity of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, it kind of feels like we’re truly having a Medieval moment. Surrender to an age of bravery and honor as you cross a koi-filled moat and make your way through the grand ivy-covered towers of Medieval Times' Dallas Castle where you will encounter an arena set for a royal feast (served without utensils) along with the royal court (King, Princess, Falconer, etc.) as well as brave knights riding magnificent stallions and utilizing various weaponry (such as the maneuverable Espada, two-handed Mandoble, or spiked ball of the Bola) while competing in medieval games of skill and an authentic jousting tournament. 11/5/2023 0 Comments Hop on pop racist![]() “But Will You Love Me Tomorrow?” details not just the artistry and business behind the music, but the social and cultural atmosphere that impacted, and was impacted, by the music, such as the invention of the transistor radio.Īnother example is the racial dynamics between the mainly Black singers, who often made no money from their work, versus the ethnically White producers and songwriters who ended up wealthy. A lot of it is who was singing and writing the songs,” said Liebowitz.įlam and Liebowitz wanted to ensure that they finally gave these artists agency. “There’s so much emotion packed into those songs. The singers were a special breed: young enough to convey the idealism of romance, but old enough to realistically deliver emotions of heartbreak. The wonderful thing about reflection prompts is that it’s a powerful exercise that involves very simple tools. When you see the words on the page, it feels easier to say goodbye to them, and move forward. It’s almost as if the negative thoughts channel through your fingers and onto the page. But it is the act of writing itself that feels very good and liberating. You can potentially find solutions to your problems, or perhaps realize that the problem isn’t as overwhelming as you initially thought.Įven the physical act of journaling has positive benefits. With journaling, you can examine any issues or problems that are weighing on you, and observe them from a different vantage point. From easing your stress and anxiety, to supporting your health and immune system, journaling allows you to gather the disparate thoughts that are hovering in your mind and organize them on paper. Journaling has been known to have wide-ranging benefits. We become active participants, rather than passive bystanders.Īnd the best part about reflection exercises? We jump from meeting to meeting, and email to email, without a chance to pause and contemplate what’s happening around us. In our busy, modern lives, we don’t always make time to sit down and actually reflect on our days. If you spread the jams to one jam per target the probability to jam at least one target does not change but there is the chance to jam multiple targets. If all jams are on one target you may successfully jam the target with one jam and be happy, or you may successfully jam the same target with two jammers and wonder if things could be better. But the voice of your EWAR FC echoes in your mind "Spread the jams". So far the examples have been about focusing all jams on a single target. In that case, the probability to successfully jam one enemy Augoror would have been On the other hand, if you had had a crystal ball with you when you fit your ship you could have fitted a full rack of four radar jammers. If there are any ships with vulnerable sensors (Caldari ships in this case) on field then it may be better to jam them even if they weren't as important jamming targets. The gravimetric jammers are not helping much against Augorors. The two gravimetric jammers are less useful against Augorors but you still decide to put them on the same Augoror. With two radar jammers on same Augoror the jam chance isĢ9% chance to jam, 69% chance to do nothing. Lets put rest of the jammers to work too. With single radar jammer on an augoror the chance of successful jam isġ6% chance of jamming the target, 84% chance of doing nothing. You end up against Augorors with 54,2 sensor strength. The radar jammer works best against the Amarr logi ships (Augoror/Guardian) while the gravimetric is best against Caldari logi ships (Osprey/Basilisk). Your FC has instructed you to jam the enemy logi, whatever they may bring. your griffin also has two radar jammers with same strength but for radar. You are piloting a Griffin with a set of two racial gravimetric racial jammers on your griffin each giving you 8,39 jamming strength against gravimetric and 2,80 against other sensor types. The circle will slowly disappear as the jam ticks down. Hovering over this will tell you how long until the jam ends. When you have successfully jammed your target, you will see a gray circle surrounding the jammer that acquired the jam (shown below the locked ship). If you can remember these colour match ups then you will remember exactly which module to activate on a ship you are targeting. Minmatar - Ladar (red-coloured jammers).Gallente - Magnetometric (green-coloured jammers).Caldari - Gravimetric (blue-coloured jammers).Amarr - Radar (yellow-coloured jammers).Remember that each race's ships all have the same colour background in the portrait image you see when you have them targeted. The race-specific modules are not named in a way that makes it obvious what race of ships they're effective against. ![]() At is 90 km away (50 km + 40 km) you will now have 10% chance to jam (50% of 20%).At 60 km (50 km + 10 km) you will now have 17% chance to jam (84% of 20%).If your target is 50 km away you will have the full 20% chance to jam. When your target is within optimal range you have a 20% chance to jam them per cycle of your modules. Let's assume your ECM module has a 50 km range and a 40km falloff. Going slightly beyond your optimal is not a problem but the effectiveness of ECM will degrade more rapidly as you go further away as seen in the table below.Īs seen in the table above at range of optimal + 0.4×falloff the jammers are still 90% effective so going slightly beyond optimal is not a big problem. Your chance to jam a target is based on this equation: This makes it possible to scale up ECM without limit. The jam strength of your ECM is compared to the sensor strength of your target and the jamming is applied based on probability.Įach individual ECM module is applied separately and there are no stacking penalties. Every ship in the game has a base sensor strength and this sensor is always of a certain type (gravimetric, ladar, radar, magenetometric). 11/4/2023 0 Comments Learn to fly 3 achievements![]() In case I didn't lay it out well, below is included what they said. The achievement will pop immediately at around 1 min 5 seconds (probably achievement delay not coding), so don't stop until you hear the bloop! Good luck! I was only getting about 45 seconds consistantly with my above method so I contacted the developer and they basically said the same thing I did above. ![]() It will take a lot of practice to get the timing down. You'll begin running again in the same running direction always and then repeat over and over. This will cause the bird to essentially loop around you to try to land again. Once the bird is within a few centimeters of you, you'll need to quickly jump over it. Then immediately begin running in the direction you planned on. Now you'll need to press the button facing the opposite direction you plan on running. You'll want to head in the opposite direction. Start off with clearing your 'runway' by killing the 3 crabs along this path. I recommend the first level at the very beginning. It is best to do in a large straight area with no enemies. Now this may sound easy but the birds automatically come back to you and this will reset your timer for that bird. Sky is the Bottom Right Girl with the birds. Now this achievement requires you to maintain a single attack bird of the Character Sky in the air for 60 seconds. It does not store any personal data. For starters this is easily the hardest achievement in the DLC and quite possibly the hardest in the whole game to date (IMO OFC).
